2018 New Year Mochi Fellowship will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Gym. Mochi is glutinous chewy rice cake and is a traditional food for the Japanese New Year. We will cook mochi in mochi machines, roll, and make ozoni (hot soup with mochi) and other flavored mochi to celebrate New Year’s Day in Japanese style. Estimated cooking time for mochi and everyone rolling the small round pieces to put in soup would be about 1.5 hours. It is a fun process to watch and participate. We expect to eat around 5:00 p.m.

Bible studies and classes are good things but when I really look at scripture and study Jesus’ model of discipleship there is one word that comes to my mind, “Investment”. Investment is the essence of discipleship. Investment and discipleship both communicate value and importance. “I see you as valuable. I believe that you are worth investing in, caring for and walking with.
